209 - Funerary head from the Anyi Kingdom of Krinjabo

Caramel colored head with irregular bits of beige incorporated, hair combed back in broad wisps, a crown of hair, a thick and solidly truncated neck. The facial elements were added later: nose, mouth and chin, the ears in relief. The half closed eyes are inflated, the nose well marked, and the lips thick. The very special hairstyle, is made up of two thick parallel rows going from ear to ear, and of seven other locks or wisps, perpendicular to the preceding ones, which cover and decorate the back of the head.
