506 - Seated Bankoni lady, hands on knees

Djenne

This kneeling woman is wearing a necklace, an arm bracelet and a wrist bracelet. The left arm is broken above the wrist. As she seems to looking at the sky, might she be praying? Asking for something? Meditating? Awaiting a higher power to solve her problems? These questions will remain unanswered, of course.

What we can capture is its bearing, this feeling of waiting, this kind of reclusion. It should be noted that her right hand is lightly touching her knee, without necessarily resting on it, evidence of a high technical prowess and a mastery of firing miraculously resisting the ravages of time.
