161 - Kneeling female figure

Small condensed statue, very dense, representing a kneeling female. A bit smaller and it would have been a perfect charm, but it was never pierced. Its role must have been to protect its owner, as a large number of fetish statues and statuettes in Africa, like the Tiki in Polynesia. The piece is quite eroded, but could it represent a benevolent and protective ancestor? By its compact size, in any case, it is a piece to hold, to handle, and to carry with you at all times.
