Sao, Chad, Niger
This is a quite beautiful round head with unquestionable authenticity. Its age is proven by the archaism and erosion of the piece.
The face is lunar shaped, very round with two small round eyes like two points, a strong nose, and the left corner of the mouth rises as if expressing a certain perplexity. The ears are represented by two lines, and two others mark the scarifications on the cheeks.
The novelty and the humour of the piece are best seen in its profile, when seing the big round nose. The back is a perfect disc, without any decoration or figuration.
